How We Became Teacheridoo
Teachers, Mentors, Parents, and Scientists who found themselves constantly facing frustrations due to the limitations of teaching online, ultimately decided to create an intuitive Learning Management System fit for their students' needs, adhered to pedagogical principles, prioritized learner-centeredness, promoted digital literacy, and fostered a positive learning atmosphere.
How it Began
When the pandemic forced us to shift to online teaching, we felt a deep dissatisfaction with the remote learning/teaching experience. Unfortunately, our teaching training had not adequately prepared us for the challenges of online instruction. We believed that being physically present in our classrooms would allow us to deliver higher-quality lessons, engage more effectively with our students, and maintain better control over the learning environment.
Project Kick-off
In our quest for solutions, we experimented with numerous software tools, often using multiple platforms simultaneously to manage various aspects of online teaching. Frustrated by the limitations and inefficiencies of existing options, we embarked on a journey to learn coding and develop our own software solution that facilitates a seamless transition for educators from traditional in-person teaching to online teaching by seamlessly translating familiar teaching routines and tasks into the digital realm with intuitive features that empower teachers and facilitate learning so we divided our tasks as well as Teacheridoo system into three categories, teaching, lesson planning, and admin.
In the virtual classroom, our goal was to include an interactive whiteboard that adhered to pedagogical principles, prioritized learner-centeredness, cultivated digital literacy and fostered a positive learning atmosphere. From experience, whether you are teaching online or in-person, pivoting learning and swiftly adapting the lesson plan to students' interests fosters greater engagement and promotes efficient learning. Thus, we've integrated a range of interactive features and multimedia elements into our interactive virtual classroom, to empower teachers to swiftly respond and tailor their lessons to match the interests of their students.
Recognizing the importance of effective lesson planning, we integrated an intuitive tool into our platform to empower teachers to design engaging lessons with clear learning objectives, as well as a file organization system to streamline material management that could easily be uploaded onto the interactive whiteboard during class.
One of the most significant challenges we face as educators is communication with students and their guardians outside of class. To address this, we designed the Teacheridoo Admin Panel with an integrated communication board. This feature allows us to share information, materials, and homework directly with students and their parents without the need for individual emails or the use and maintenance of social media groups. By simply adding a student's or guardian's contact information to the system, they gain access to all shared content and announcements without relying on social media platforms. Furthermore, this private communication board serves as a valuable collaboration tool with support staff and colleagues.
Pandemic Passion Project to Start-up
Having used Teacheridoo extensively with our own students, children, colleagues, and acquaintances, we realized its transformative potential for the broader education community. Thus, we decided to make Teacheridoo available to educators worldwide. As a product developed by teachers for teachers, we are committed to continuous improvement.
